However, it includes all the modern amenities, such as a ground source heat pump, custom kitchen, beautiful bathrooms and radiant heating in the garage floors. A wide porch provides a lovely place to sit and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

1001 McLaren Road, Perth K7H 3C5

Nestled on a wooded lot in BurgessWood, a community planned by Perth dentist Dr. Grover Lightford, you will find a unique stone home, carefully styled after a Quebec farm house. With soaring ceilings, and three large windows, the open living space affords views of the treed lot, and the busy bird feeders. Local artisans provided the carved stone bathroom sinks and blown glass kitchen lights, while other features such as the copper countertops and ripple glass kitchen cupboard doors came from abroad. The tranquil setting, with low maintenance landscaping, allows the natural vegetation to flourish.

This comfortable and energy efficient home has no furnace, with heat provided by radiant floor heating downstairs, hot water radiators upstairs, and a gas fireplace in the living room.  What a lovely addition to this older neighbourhood!

What a beautiful little yellow brick home, steeped in history and charm, in the heart of Perth! Built originally as a carriage house for the main home on Drummond St. East, this is now a family home with a great deal of character. This well kept and welcoming home has elegant living and dining rooms, with original pine floors. Over the years, there have been two additions to this home. Notice the metal hitching posts outside the front door, cut down from taller ones that were originally on Gore Street.

Where will you have lunch?

Perth has a myriad of eateries from casual cafes to fine dining establishments and everything in between. Many restaurants as well as St. James Anglican Church annually support the House Tour with lunch menus to suit everyone. They also donate gift certificates which are raffled during CFUW monthly General Meetings with the proceeds being added to the House Tour fund.
